Kit shares his thought for the week; trusting God in uncertain times.

My Thought for the Week is on trusting in God in the uncertain times and a suitable verse would be Proverbs 3 verse 5 to 6 which says,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lead not in your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Quite often we go through lives going through uncertain times. Ellie and I are hopefully purchasing a house. We’re also going to Limitless Festival. We’re also going to Big Church Festival to run a store for Redeemed. So there’s a lot of moving parts and there’s a lot of uncertainty! But one thing that we’ve realized is we really just need to lean in on God’s understanding and not on our own.

We often can find ourselves just finding ourselves leaning on our own strength, leaning on the things that we already know, things like how much money do we have in the bank account? How is my health at the moment? But really, no one can tell us what tomorrow is going to be like. Something drastic might happen. Who knows what is going to happen tomorrow.

So all I want to say to you guys this week is when you’re finding yourself in uncertain times, whether positive or negative, we have to remember to lean on God, lean on his strength and not on our own. Don’t rely on the ability of yourself or of other people because the only one who can, who knows where we’re going and who can support us in where we want to go is the Lord. So that’s my quick thought of the week. Just lean in his understanding, lean in his knowledge and his wisdom and his love and try and find that peace when you’re going through these uncertain times. I hope that’s been good.

So let me just pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are with us. Lord, we thank you that you know what’s going to happen tomorrow, what’s going to happen next week and what’s going to happen in the future for us Lord Jesus. So we just pray that when we’re faced with these uncertain times, let us lean in towards you. Let us delve into your word and into your presence. Let us not get distracted by the abilities of ourselves or of other people. And Lord, let’s just make sure that you are the center of our life. Lord, we just thank you for the work that you do in all of us. We thank you that you keep us safe. In Jesus’ name, amen.
