Barbie shares her thought for the week; stand firm.
Progress is good, we all know this. Some people say that if you’re not advancing you’re not making progress. However, I wish to differ. Sometimes just in standing that might be progress to us.
We’ve all fallen. We all know people who have fallen asleep and passed on or some who have fallen ill. We might have fallen into bad company or fallen off the wagon or fallen into bad habits. We might have fallen behind in payments or fallen behind at work or school or fallen out of love. We might have fallen off a pedestal. I know this that Romans 3 verse 23 tells me that we have all fallen short of God’s standards. Sometimes we don’t need to be advancing to be making progress. Sometimes for us just standing is our progress. I fall over and I get up again and that sometimes I know that that’s not good enough. I need to stand.
I love the sea. Sometimes we go down to the sea and I could be standing on just letting the waves come and come over my feet. I love paddling but sometimes a wave can come that I’m not expecting and it can knock me over and sometimes I get up again and then I just dig my heels in a bit more and I brace myself and I just stand firm.
Today if you haven’t made any definable progress but all you’ve managed to do is stand no matter how bent that is instead of falling over please know that that could be your progress. Don’t let others tell you that because you’re not advancing that you’re not making progress. They don’t know what waves are hitting you today. They don’t know that in your standing you could that could be your progress. Know this that Ephesians 6 verse 13 and 14 tells us and when you can do nothing more to stand stand firm.
I pray that today you’ll be able to stand firm. God bless.
