Kit shares his thought for the week; having Christ-like humility.
My Thought for the Week comes from Philippians 2 verse 5 which says,
In your relationships with one another, take on the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:5
And it’s verses 6 to 11 where Paul describes Christ’s humility, Christ being the Son of God who is equal to the Father yet coming down to earth in the human form, being completely obedient to the will of the Father even to the point of his death on the cross. And it’s here that Paul is reminding the Church of Philippi, reminding us that within our relationships to one another, whether that be friends or family, colleagues or classmates, that we need to be humble, we need to be servant-heartedness.
It’s through this humility in being a servant to one another where we find unity, we find care, love and compassion. And currently in the world where we see relationships taking advantage of for personal gain, particularly maybe in the workplace where promotions are on the line, it’s in the humility that we really show the love of Christ for saking our own personal gain to serve one another. When we do this particularly as a church body, the community around us will see us as a people that are different, a people where we care deeply for one another, where we are able to go above and beyond to serve one another, even if that means taking out extra time of our day or potentially forsaking other gains.
I just want to encourage you and remind you this week to go out and remain humble and lead this week with a servant heart and serve your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
