Saji shares his thought for the week; God is our very present help in trouble.
Let’s be encouraged by this powerful truth from the Word of God:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
That means God is not far away. He is right here with us, in whatever we’re going through right now.
In the Old Testament, when the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, God made a way where there was no way. Exodus 14:14 says,
“The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Exodus 14:14
In the New Testament, when the disciples were in the storm, Jesus spoke and said, “Peace, be still,” and everything changed. That same God is with us today.
So, what should we do in times of trouble? First, let’s call on Him. Jeremiah 33:3 says:
“Call to Me, and I will answer you….”
Jeremiah 33:3
Second, let’s come with faith. In Hebrews 4:16 we read:
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16
Third, let’s trust Him. Proverbs 3:5 says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…….”
Proverbs 3:5
And finally, let’s praise Him, even in the middle of our situation. Because when Paul and Silas prayed and praised, suddenly things changed.
Our situation is not beyond God. Our problem is not permanent. And our help is already present. Psalm 34:19 says:
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
Psalm 34:19
So today, let’s not give up. Let’s not lose hope. God is with us and He will help us. May God bless
