Aaron shares his thought for the week; be encouraged in God’s nearness.
Following Paul’s conversion and his arrival into Jerusalem, Paul speaks to the crowds about how God met with him on the road to Damascus. And due to the nature in which God had spoken to Paul, some people really didn’t agree. And actually they stopped listening at that point.
Paul is then taken before the Sanhedrin and he raises this, and actually there’s a fight that breaks out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees. He’s then taken to the barracks and this is where I want to pick up from in Acts 23 verse 11. It says here,
The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, ‘Take courage, as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.’
Acts 23:11
I wonder what God might be asking you to do this week. I wonder who he might want you to testify about his goodness to. Could it be your friends, your family? Could it be your work colleagues? Could it be your schoolmates, whoever is watching this? I wonder if God wants you to speak to somebody about the goodness of Jesus this week. I would argue that he probably does. But for some people that might seem really hard, but I would love to offer this as some encouragement because it says in chapter 23 of Acts verse 11, it says, “The following night the Lord stood near”. Be encouraged by the nearness of God. He’s standing with you.” It says, “Take courage.” The Lord is saying, “Take courage.”
So as you go, as you share Jesus this week, take courage and be encouraged by him standing near to you. Have a great week. God Bless.
