Aaron shares his thought for the week; following God.
So often in Scripture we see God asking His people to step out in radical obedience, and some of the things He asks them to do might seem slightly strange when we look through our own perspective. Let me give you a couple of examples.
- When the Israelites get to the city of Jericho, God says, “I want you to march around the city.”
- Jesus calls out to Simon Peter in the fishing boat and says, “Cast your nets on the other side.”
- Noah is told to build an ark and it’s not even raining.
- Gideon was asked to take his fighting army of 32,000 right down to 300.
- Abraham was asked to sacrifice his own son.
- Peter was asked by Jesus to get out of the boat and to walk on the water.
- And the rich young ruler was asked to sell everything that he owns.
See, so often we try and tackle things in our own strength. We put a lot of our strength and energy and time into tackling things ourselves and I would love to encourage you today watching to trust the still small voice of God, to lean into His still small voice. Be quick to act when He speaks, even when the request might seem slightly strange.
Because Isaiah 55 verse 8 says,
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are my ways your ways,” declares the Lord.
